Even though the state of Vermont is trying desperately to pass a bill which would require GMO foods to be labeled, the state’s efforts are being threatened by biotech giant Monsanto. In retaliation of the GMO labeling bill, Monsanto has threatened to sue Vermont if any such bill is passed. Sadly, Vermont elected public officials may surrender to the threats and intimidation brought about by the GMO creator.http://naturalsociety.com/monsanto-threatens-lawsuit-over-gmo-labeling-bill/#ixzz1rJIbhKFY
Do you remember that people used to think it was a bright idea to eat off lead plates? Yeah, then the practice was discarded once people became increasingly mentally impaired from all the lead in their brains.
The same is true of genetically modified food. Seems it makes you sterile.
A joint experiment by Russia's National Association for Gene Security and the Institute of Ecological and Evolutional Problems has revealed that hamsters fed genetically modified (GM) foods produce grandchildren that are unable to produce fourth generation offspring.
Scientist Alexei Surov described the experiment, in which they monitored the behavior, weight gain and birthrate of several groups of hamsters. Upon birth of the second generation they noted slower rates of growth and sexual maturity. The next generation was unable to produce[1].
Technically, the final result of GMOs would be an end to world hunger because it would be an end to humans. Even the seeds are sterile.http://www.unitypublishing.com/Government/GMO%20Birth%20Control.htm
Within sixty years, very few Americans will be able to reproduce by natural means. That is not hyperbole. Genetically modified corn is in nearly all processed foods, if by no other avenue than by the high fructose corn syrup.
GMO food is a menace. Monsanto knows this. That's why they don't want their poison labeled as such. If we can put warning labels on cigarettes, why not on food which is proven to cause all sorts of adverse effects, including sterility?
Monsanto is an extremely evil company. They will not be satisfied until the use of heritage seeds is completely banned. To force the world to buy their genetically modified seeds is akin to levying a tax on life itself.
Five years of occupation, more than $558 billion spent, 4,182 U.S. soldiers and 655,000 Iraqi civilians dead, and it now looks like Monsanto (NYSE.MON - $71.95) is going to be the real victor in Iraq thanks to a postwar document known as Order 81.
...
Order 81, by first forcing Iraq’s farmers to use GM seeds, and then by declaring natural seeds an infringement on Monsanto technology, will result in the sorts of tragedies seen elsewhere in the developing world, reducing Iraq’s farmers to drinking field-grade herbicides to escape financial catastrophe.
Nor will the Iraqi people benefit in terms of more food. Order 81, mandated under the dystopian title "Plant Variety Protection,” turns the agricultural world on its head by defining indigenous crops as invasive and GM crops as uniform and stable. Moreover, the six varieties of wheat developed for Iraq are primarily used in pasta. Since the Iraqis don’t eat pasta, one can only assume these food crops are destined for Western nations, leaving the average Iraqi that much closer to starvation.
Order 81, carefully crafted to look like humanitarian legislation aimed at rescuing a country decimated by half a decade of war, is in fact a Monsanto power play under U.S. government sponsorship. Farmers who do not comply will have seeds, farm implements and even land seized.
The infamous 100 Orders, of which 81 is only an instance, are clearly a ploy to allow multinationals like Monsanto to take over an entire nation. As Iraqi resentment over this privatization grows, expect continued resistance, more deaths, and ultimately a failure of democracy.http://www.thepanelist.net/opinions-culture-10084/1252-the-real-victor-in-iraq-monsanto
Ah, I see. So it wasn't about freedom and the American Way and all that, and liberating the poor, downtrodden Iraqi people after all, was it?
It was Operation Monsanto Market. Let's call a spade a spade.
