Some mornings I get out of bed and shake my head and wonder if this disease of a country is even worth saving. I work for seven years to restore lawful government and I turn my back for two seconds and the congress is off codifying the executive branch's claim of authority to disappear and to assassinate anyone, anywhere, for any reason.
A return to first principles means nullifying every last federal law in existence by default and then selectively admitting certain assertions of jurisdiction, statute by statute, until a new body of law is formed which comports with both fundamental law and basic human decency. The legal system in Washington is so screwed up that it is now officially dysfunctional. It cannot discern between what is lawful versus unlawful and legal versus illegal. It is now a muddied gray soup that no one recalls used to be crystal clear.
America once had a jurisprudence that was the envy of the world, pure logic and reason. Now it's an insane asylum's cacophony of wailing and the gibbering of the damned.
The legal system in Washington doesn't know what end is up, quite frankly. Therefore, responsible citizens have to tell them. "You don't have any laws now. How's that sound? But if you're extra-special good, we'll let you have some back, one at a time, like a cookie. Now go peddle your crazy elsewhere."
